Its not an armored vehicle. I could shoot at your car and it would have the same results as shooting at my chevy cobalt. It would be full of holes. Unless your car is armored its going to get torn up if shot at. Depends on what hummer you are talking about, if its an H2 or H3 no they aren't good for anything. If you want a hummer get an H1 or buy a used military HUMVEE. The original HUMMERS are still being made that's what the H1's are. The H1 is the same thing as the military version only the H1 has a few color options unlike the military version's OD green LOL.

Bullets are very powerful and a Hummer isn't an armored car. Even in an armored vehicle, the body and glass would be destroyed, that is part of what dissipates the energy from the bullets and protects the occupants.
Only in the movies do bullets just bounce off cars and leave the paint untouched. In the real world those bullets pack the punch of a locomotive and tear up everything in their path, and they fragment and tear up everything in the path of the fragments too. You should see even the old cars made of thick steel, like Bonnie & Clyde's car, were riddled with holes.
It isn't a case of whether or not the Hummer is tough. Put away the Hollywood notion of how tough a car is now that you've seen what real bullets do.

Well bullets pretty much go through anything. As far as the answer that the Hummer is actually a Suburban she could not be more WRONG. The AM General Hummer is nothing like a Suburban and the off road capability is OUTSTANDING, provided we are talking about a hummer and not an H2 or the baby chick truck H3. An H2 is not that bad could still run circles off road around a Tundra or Titan.

I was in Breckenridge a few years ago and I saw one that got into a head on collision with a light post. The entire front end was smashed in and gone. I thought, "my, what a soft car." I would have expected the hummer to damage the light.
I saw one in Denver more recently and it had porn playing on the back of every seat. (even the back seats, so I could watch too!).
So maybe it's good for partying in Denver IF no one is shooting at you. But that is about it.

Hummers are good for people who dont have anything better to waste their money on, or for those who think spending more for a car than I spend for tuition is a good investment. What idiots.

Its a big status car. That's its purpose, to impress the neighbors, not to stop bullets or drive over rough terrain.

It's a civilian grade vehicle, what did you expect? If they actually implemented more quality material, the cost of it would triple, if not more.
