If you know the wattage of either the whole set or one bulb by 100 by the number of hours used divided by 1000 will give you the kilowatt hours.

If you have the old kilowatt hour meter you can have only the lights running. Then count the number of turns of the aluminium disk per say 5 mins then use the multiplier writen on the front to calculate the kWh used.

It depends on the lights. You can check how much wattage is used by multiply the voltage, most likely 120V, with the amperage used. This should be on the plug somewhere. The number will end with an A or an mA. If it ends in mA you have to divide by 1000. For example. If it says 120v 500mA you would do 120x500/1000= 60 watts. Or it will say 120V .5A which means the same thing.

Also note that a 100 watt light bulb only cost about 2 cents an hour to run, for those of you who think leaving the lights on runs up your electric bill. Your fridge, washer, dryer, TV, ect are the biggest expense on your bill.

If you want to do the math yourself look at your electric bill. You most likely pay 20 to 30 cents per kilo watt hour. That mean you pay 20 cents for using 1000 watts in an hour. So a 100 watt light bulb only cost 1/10th of the 20 cents, so 2 cents.
