Spam is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. The labeled ingredients in the variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, salt, water, sugar, and sodium nitrite. It has gained a peculiar infamy, along with something of a place in pop culture, and has even entered into folklore and urban legend.
Other varieties of Spam include Low-Salt Spam, Spam Lite (containing pork and chicken), and Spam Oven Roasted Turkey - the latter is a halaal food, meaning that it is allowed under Islamic law, and is especially popular in Muslim markets.
Spam is produced in (among other places) Austin, Minnesota, USA (also known as Spam Town USA). As of 1997, over 5 billion tins had been sold worldwide.[1]

SPAM is a nice concoction of processed meat squished into a tin.
My father used to slice it up, grill it and serve it with boiled cabbage.
You can now get it in single serve pouches to take camping with you. Yay!

Okay, it is canned meat. --Which, I never eat cause I bit into a small chunk of bone and cracked a molar. I had to have a root-canal. Its really nasty stuff that you should only eat if you are on an island during a hurricane.

SPiced hAM. It's actually pork shoulder and ham, but that's where the name came from.
