chalk it up to experience, my friend.
You went to her place, and you played checkers????!!!
Dude, I would be LOL if it wasn't so tragic!
Not to worry... next time you will know better. All guys have similar experiences. I don't know what it is, but when the moment of truth arrives, a little voice in the male brain tells us to back off and raises doubt. Clearly, this girl wanted you to make some moves. When you didn't deliver, guess what? You made it on her list of "friends." A man never, ever, wants to be placed on a girl's list of "friends."
Next time you have such an opportunity with another girl... don't think twice, just be a man and go for it!

Simple answer is put this down to experience. Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want. Friendship is not something to be dismissed lightly. She seems to be a person you can trust unless she has blurted what you told her to all and sundry. Be happy with friendship - a close strong friendship can last a lifetime where a relationship has no guarantee. Forgive yourself and spend some time with your friend.

Listen if she invited you to her place and wanted more you would have seen that she wouldn't be playing checkers, she would have made some move to "play other games" I don't think you should beat yourself up maybe it's just not time yet.

It almost sounds like this girl already had her mind made up about where your relationship was headed. It sounded like she wanted you just as a friend and you expressing how you felt could have possibly made things even more difficult for her. Saying how you felt may have not made any difference in this case I'm sorry to say.

ok when a girl asks you to her place that some times that meens that she wants to be asked out and to know the true feelings of her "friend". other times she really does just want to be friends. start taking her places just as "friends" then things will develope into more than bff

oh you can't blame your self here. You can only learn from any mistakes you might of made...
She had fun while she was at your house right? Maybe that wasn't the reason why she just wants to be friends.

you would have beenn stupid if you came on to her in such a short amount of time. Girls will get scared away if you come on heavy and serious. Next time- just have fun and laugh, play it cool and she will hunt you down if she is the right girl.
ALWAYS be a gentleman- and never push for more.

Whoa big fella! Just because a female invites you up to watch TV does not mean that's an invitation to sex. Remember, no means no, okay?

well, you definitely should have told her how you felt, but if she dosen't dig you, then she doesn't dig you. nothing you say should really change that. And if you saying something like that to her would change her mind...i still think she's not that into you. Who wants to be with someone who had to be persuaded to like you??? not me! you're just friends, so save what you have and move on. you can neve rhave too many friends!
