I'm prepared to spend $1000 on a new tv and I'm trying to get in on the end of the year sales this month (jan). I'm using it for tv and movies but also for my xbox 360. I found a 42 inch plasma hdtv for $1000 at Best Buy and I'm wondering if this is a good choice. If not, what should I be looking for when buying a new tv? My price range is $1000.

I don't think anyone got what clint was saying. Anyway, you would probably be better off looking at 37 inch for $1000, but I would have to see the TV at Best Buy to judge. Send a link if you can, my email is in my profile.

Depends on the brand. It's tough to find a quality 42 in. plasma for under $1000. If you decide to go with this tv, I would also strongly consider getting some sort of service plan as well.

You can get a brand new 42 in plasma from this site I found where all you have to do is enter in your email address. You can also choose the brand you want. My uncle got his tv from that site and it arrived at his house a few weeks later. If your interested the site is http://urlx.org/directtrack.com/584eb , give it a try.
