Okay, like when the twin towers fell, everyone blamed God and stuff, and that led many people to desert Christianity. Why didn't those people blame someone else like Buddha or Mohomad or something else? So many people believe in other religions, yet always blame everything bad that happens to them is God's fault, even when it may be their own.

The reason Buddha isn't blamed for anything is very simple.

Buddha never claimed to be a God, Angel or any other spooky thing! All he said was I AM WAKE! He never made any claims about being all knowing or about being here to save anyone from anything!

The truth is the creators of monotheism (Which were humans by the way) came up with this silly idea of an invisible man that is all knowing, all powerful and all present! This idea combined with the equally silly a notion that this God is a being of love (Rather stupid given the cruel ways in which this God behaves in their own bible) sets up for the idea that he would protect those who believe in him.
After all how many people would bother with Christianity if they were told, No matter what happens in your life, no matter how bad things get God will never do anything to help you. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN! Oh yes and you must take full responcibility for your actions and not look to negate your responcibility by saying I believe in Jesus. As if this somehow negates your abusive behavor towards your wife, children or whoever!

Face the facts! Christians want to think their invisible man is sitting on the edge of his seat concerned about every little thing that occurs in human existance! So why wouldn't this God is blamed for problems when he could if he existed stop everything negative or evil from occuring!
After all we can't be here to make a choice since this God KNOWS EVERYTHING! He already knows what choices each one of us will make!

I don't blame God because I believe that at the end of the day ourselves make our own decisions and if we blame something else that is just a way to try and not concentrate on us answering it.

OK, I got this one...

Imagine this, you are standing in 1 foot of water and there is a baby laying face down in the water. With almost no effort, you can save that baby. If you choose not to, are you responsible for that baby's death? Almost anyone from a 1st world country would say yes. If god can stop any tragedy, and apparently does stop some since people believe in prayer, how do we not hold him responsible for the tragedies that he does NOT avert?

For him stopping a hurricane is easier than you lifting your own finger, right?

They want to blame someone else so they don't have to take responsibility.

What is your source on "that led many people to desert Christianity."?

Personally, I blame the enemy for the 9-11. The spirit behind the attacks is truly the enemy.

John 10:10 "the enemy comes to kill, to steal and to destroy..."

Only people with personality disorders need to blame anyone or anything. Deal with life, forgive people's flaws, enjoy the good times as well as the bad. Crying won't make you feel better. Complaining doesn't fix things. Learn to love the beauty of life's complexity. You are lucky as we all are to have this opportunity.

You want to know why Christians blamed God instead of the prophets of other religions? Um....maybe because they are Christians and not Buddhists or Muslims. Why would a Christian blame a divine being whom they don't believe to exist?

Actually, when the Twin Towers fell, all the people I knew blamed terrorists.

I really don't know! The fact is we are to blame for our own destruction. God merely permits us to make the decisions right or wrong. We ourselves have a hand in all that comes our way.

Get real, no God is to blame. Religion is to blame. People that believe it when a religion claims to be the only way to God. Get rid of religions that have books of lies and the world would be better off.

ok heres the problem, people give "God" too much credit, when something great happens "God did it" when something bad happens "why didn't God stop it?"

people give God all of the credit rather than just realizing that people are responsible for the things going on in this world.
