You along with many other people suffer from stress. It may be stress in the muscles of the neck, shoulders or mental stess that is causing you to clench or grind your teeth. If your partner hears you at night your most likely grinding your teeth. The first step is being aware and then try to keep your lips closed and teeth apart. You can massage the masseter muscle..the muscle that is your cheek, if you loosen that muscle their might be less tension. Try seeing a massage therapist that does wonders for people who grind. But the most affective thing to do is go see your dentist and ask for a night gaurd. A night gaurd is a custom fitted appliance that usually fits to your upper teeth. This appliance protects your teeth from the grinding forces. This will allow for less wear on the enamel and less sensitivity and no more headaches. A night gaurd is usually covered by insurance but if not it usually cost close to three hundred dollars. Good luck

This happed to my father a while back. It could be caused by stress, although there could be an issue with your jaw alignment.

Best solution, run by the sports store and pick up a comfortable and reusable mouth guard that you can wear on a nightly basis. Worked for my father during the stressful time.

My sister has this problem too! She went to a special doctor and he learnt her some exercises. Now, before she goes sleeping, she has to move her mouth in different ways to make the muscles tired. When you do that your mouth will not move around like a cow anymore. It helps her, hope you can take advantage of it too!

You need a bite-guard. You can buy one at any pharmacy or you can see a dentist . . it's for people who grind their teeth . . . I too grind my teeth (causes jaw pain and headaches too!) My husband calls it "chewing rocks" because that's what he claims it sounds like when I wake him up in the middle of the night. Good luck.

You have to see a dentist right away. No, I'm not a dentist.
You can get a device that cushions your mouth while you sleep.

you could sleep with a mouth guard, and talk to your dr. about it. It's probably stress related.
