Do they come dreictly from the Bhagavadgita? Or Rig Veda? And if they do how can I quote from them? I need to specify page numbers/chapters etc....

Depending upon which vedam(Rk--Yajus--Saaman) the married couple belong and which Sutram (Aapasthambam/ Bodhaayanam/ Kaatyaayanam/Aswalaayanam) the Mantarm(Recitation) would differ.The broad proceedures are given in Sathapatha Braahmanam

I have been to several hindu weddings and I always thought they made them up as they went along. Well maybe not but I cant help

interesting question...i'm going to watch trhis one.......like all ceremonies they should be updated...some archioligical digs allow us to appreciate today..because of changes
