So why are you wasting time telling us about god instead of curing every form of cancer known to mankind? Do super intelligent people
like Marie Curie or Steve Hawking know how to cure cancer?
Btw, If you think using Yahoo! Answers is a waste of time, don't use it then.

Atheists don't pretend to either super-intelligence or miracles. If you'd like a miracle, you can contact the Pope... but somehow I don't think that he's gonna cure cancer, either. In fact, I'm doubting that any of the world's religions are going to be good for that or any other disease. Seems like God doesn't do a whole lot of work nowadays.
If anyone does? I'm betting a scientist, and there's even a good chance... well... you know the punch line, right?

Atheists ONLY lack the belief in a god or gods. That's what we all have in common (us atheists).
Besides that - some are stupid... some are smart. Not all of us are super intelligent.
I'm highly intelligent, but that's not linked to my atheism. Also, *I* can't cure any form of cancer because I can't do science at all. I got a D in Chemistry and purposely failed physics because that was too hard. I'm intelligent in OTHER fields... like grammar for example.
I don't tell people "There is no god" - I say "The probability of a god existing is extremely low" which is true.

If your God is all-knowing, why are you wasting your time on Yahoo! Answers instead of asking him for the cure?

You are asserting without proof that "curing every form of cancer known to mankind" is a moral obligation. You cannot prove it is.

I'm an atheist, and I've never said I was super intelligent. Plus, I didn't study medicine, so I really don't know how on earth I could find a cure for cancer.
And I'd say exactly the same as Asgsk and JellyBean.
I think you don't quite understand what atheism means!

We have concluded that the first sensible thing to do is cure every form of delusion known to mankind. After this is done, cancer will be child's play.

I'm a Believer and I have not seen any Atheists going on and on about how intelligent they are. What does it matter? Let me answer that one. It doesn't.
By the way. People are people. Just because someone chooses a faith or not does not make that person anymore smarter then the other.

It will probably be a Christian that will find the cure for cancer. It was a Christian that invented the MRI diagnostic machine.

So you equate "super" intelligence with logic and pragmatism? Does that mean that illogical, idealistic people are unintelligent and christian? I know some atheists and some Christians that are going to take exception to that.
