My ex (and the father of my child) & I were together for a total of nine years. When we first met I was living the party life right along side with him, my next plan was where was the best party & what was I going to wear. I had no college education at this point & life was good for both of us, we were both on the same "level."
However, when I started going to college & he decided that his career would be a construction worker things seemed to change for us drastically. I am not sure if it was because of my education, or because our conversations changed from "where's the next party" to my relentless study habits, continually questioning "life" and attempting to view the world differently.
We started out on the same paths, but our paths became distrinctly different when I went to school.
The man I am currently dating has a college education & I find it refreshing to debate various theories without hurt feelings.
Essentially, me & my ex didn't have anything to talk about anymore once I started going to school
That's just my experience, not that going to college or deciding not to go to college is a good/bad thing. I believe there are many folks who are extremely intelligent without a formal education.

No. My martial arts instructors are not college educated and the way they spoke, acted and the people they hung out with, would deter me. Grammar was very bad. Manners were bad. And friends look like thugs.

My bf doesnt go to college, but he works his butt off...and he is gonna start a business soon. As long as your partner has a solid plan in mind that has a chance to actually work. Education is important, but sometimes it's not necessary at all times.

good luck.

Yes I would. College isn't for everyone and that doesn't make people any less of a human.

I wouldn't date anyone who didn't have aspirations of post-secondary education. It's kind of hard to talk to them.
