Both your personalities will devlope and change. It is possible to still love him after you become of legal age and your parents have no say in who you date, but there would be a better chance (say if you were 16-17).
I was with someone when I was 16, we broke up, and 4yrs later found each other again and found that we were much more compatible now that we had grown up, just this last month we had our 1yr anniversary.
So it is possible, but while they force the break up, try to date around (date around, NOT sleep around! lol) to figure out what you are really looking for in a relationship.
