Unfortunately in many of these countries alot of people are persecuted, I know I wouldn't want to live there. I was reading an article about Saddam and he would persecute practically anyone. I don't know if everything you read is true but That part of the world is just barbaric. The same goes for places in Africa. I don't think it has anything to do with being a christian. Saddam apparently executed people for currency speculation. I think we should all listen to both sides of an arguement instead of just saying no no that's a load of cr*p, christians would never be persecuted. Unfortunately this is a nasty world we live in a nd anything could happen. Before coming on yahoo answers I was dead against the war in Iraq but now my views are changing. Not that I agree with how the government went about it or all the civillian loses. We should all be open to find out the truth.
And hey, christians are not persecuted in the west because they are a majority but I don't think any Muslims in the Middle East would take to them kindly.

Sure, Christians are persecuted. But, who hasn't been? Currently in the United States, it is homosexuals. And I would have to say, that here, this problem is worse than with Christianity. There is not a soul in this world who has not faced some sort of discrimination at some point in time. Some worse than others, and no one deserves it. But the point is you see different groups being persecuted for different things ALL OVER the world. So, my question to you is why should I be more concerned about Christian persecution than any other? Especially, when your bible told you it would happen.

Well, you left out or conveniently overlooked reason number 4:
4. They bring it on themselves.
Missionary work has its hazards, as well as its supposed rewards. Preach in a country that forbids it, you take the chance of becoming a statistic.
Stick your nose in where it doesn't belong, and you can also get it shot off. And interfering with local politics by sticking a religious foot into the mix will get you in front of a firing squad. Place yourself in the middle of a revolution, for whatever reason, and you will find yourself, sooner or later, facing a gun.
People who do not want your presence (or your religion) have the right to refuse you and you should abide by it, and if you get adamant about continuing to stick your nose in where you are not welcome, you are going to face some violent protests.
I am not sure what your point is but in my opinion it's not religion here, its stupidity. And if they want to label it as martyrdom, then that's fine. But they are still dead. And they have no one to blame but themselves.

i'm a pagan. i understand the historic past of what befell to our human beings and to the natives peoples, on the hands of Christians who additionally lived throughout some extremely undesirable circumstances. i think that there's no longer a stable Christian on the instant who endorses what befell back then. And any individual who does advise those terrible activities isn't a stable something. I say those words as a pagan, interior the spirit of the day on the instant, which I surely have humbly stated as CHRISTIAN AND PAGAN APPRECIATION DAY in 3 questions that I published. in this spirit of togetherness and coming mutually, I say that enable us to undergo in ideas the previous and not in any respect permit it is repeated. non secular intolerance is the muse of why those poor activities befell, and the extra we attempt to return mutually and love one yet another, and settle for each others' differences, the less possibly it is going to likely be that any one would be burning absolutely everyone else on the stake. I additionally grant this: if in my lifetime, I could ever see absolutely everyone, in spite of faith, being persecuted for their ideals, if ever I see somebody being dragged to that pyre, i'm going to stomp on the tournament that would have set the blaze.

But, you missed the whole point.
The christian source *is* unreliable and suspect.
If I, as an atheist, published a report saying atheists were being persecuted, would you believe me based solely on my report? Of course not -- you'd want independent verification. As you should. And that's what's required of the christian report as well.
Oh, and your logic is illogical...
Are there christians being persecuted in the world? I have no doubt. There are people of all religions being persecuted -- that's what religions do to each other, fight to try and show whose god is best, and try to wipe out all opposition. Where christians are a minority, I'm sure they're given a hard time.
But the numbers quoted? Without independent verification -- useless.

Their government is based around the Quran, if you steal cut off his hand type deals and i know the christians want the same rules (10 commandments) put on this country and thank god we have separation of church and state. Have you ever studied the crusades, or how the early church converted people whether they cooperated or not, a good example is when they came to my island (ireland) the druids were told the story you are today and in a mad fashion committed suicide because of the nonsense, the complete brainwashing(for example the wine you drink is blood?) the sick acts you committed against the muslims, the indians, the pagans, which happens to be most of the religions or ethnicities of the world. When the crusaders entered Jerusalem they killed all who were there, whether they be muslim, jew, pagan, OR EVEN CHRISTIAN. You can thumbs down me or report me all you want, but in the end this was worth getting in trouble for, not for me but for your own sense.

I just watched a hearing on US Foreign Council on Freedom of Liberty/Religion and noticed something I didn't lite on before. That alot of religious persecution comes from radicals who with a violent presentation execute their religion(?) on others w/o MERCY. It's sad to realize how the victims look to US aid in their plight for freedom which includes their right of religion. Other countries better wake-up if they are different in belief from these radicals as they will eventually be on their list.
Note: Hitler wasn't a Christian he was half Jew (Rothchild) and was backed by some US elite business' with a German Industrialist. See NWO Hard TRuth/Wake-up America.

Bah christians love to claim persecution, if they want real persecution throw them into a concentration camp, Hitler was a true christian and christians are too cowardly to admit it. Christians dont know a thing about persecution until they get beaten to death because theyre Gay or Pagan, ive had friends that died because some bible thumper didnt tolerate thier way of life.
