I need to let him down gently, he is a lovely person and the last thing I want to do is hurt him, but I can't continue to see him because I don't feel anything for him and if im honest im getting sick of the sight of him.

If I told him I want to get married he would go for it, thats what my problem is I have been seeing him for 3 months and he is already talking about commitment and cummer holidays and kids etc.

Guys are either so slippery or stiffling rarely right in the middle.
Well, don't be too harsh on him.
At least you're sure you don't want him.
Tell him you need a temporary break to rethink your relationship and then you can either recontact him to say it's over or never get back in touch again.

You really just have to be an adult about it and tell him that it's not working out for you. You are not doing him any favours by dragging it out any longer and you will only make it more difficult for yourself the longer it goes on. Make a clean break and tell him, otherwise you are just making a fool of him. Think how he would feel if he knew that you had been dating him out of pity because you didn't have the guts to just be honest. It will be hard but it is definitely for the best. Good luck in finding Mr Right.

Instead of cutting ties completely, couldn't you just go on a break & spend a week with friends? After that, you'll come back refreshed & see him in a whole new light. It's not healthy to be cooped up together ALL the time, & a break might do you both good. *This answer may not earn me ANY jelly babies, but I think it's sensible advice.

Um, I'll answer your question but I really wanted to talk to you about "jelly baby", where I live it is a very bad thing to call someone that. It's so disgustiing I can't even tell you why because I don't know how old you are.
As for your question, it always hurts someone to break up with them. Be honest and do it soon. Don't stretch it out and drag your feet till he has to figure it out for himself!

Ah youre too Nice . Look you are doing the poor fella more harm than good by stringing him along . Let him know straight up and be done with it . If he cant thankyou for being honest well then thats up to him . But come on its not far on the guy he could be spending his time looking for Miss right instead of spending it with you who is clearly Miss Wrong X

Can't dump anyone nicely. Just be honest.
I was honest with my ex husband 3 or 4 times and he never belived I would leave him. When I eventually did, he became a complete a rse.
Tell the truth.

just tell him the truth in the long run it would be the best thing in the short term you will hurt him but at least you wont have lied to him and he will be appreciative of that fact

honesty is going to be the best bet. tell him exactly what you just told us. minus the getting sick when you see him part. tell him you think he's great but the relationship isn't heading anywhere.
