You can keep it in a jar, so that when she gets to the point when she realizes there really isn't a tooth fairy, she can see all the ones she lost. That's what my parents did. Just be sure that you and your wife both know who is going to be the "tooth fairy." One year, both of my parents put money under my pillow not realizing the other had (or was going to) and I got $12!!

If She Wants To Have Her Leave A Note Or Something Saying That She Wants Or Does Not Want Her Tooth. Or You Can Keep As A Memory Of Her First Tooth, or Just Throw It Away.

Hi there - my son asked that the tooth fairy leave his tooth for him to see. That way I got out of the problem of keeping teeth and he got the money and the tooth. Suggest that she could write a letter to the tooth fairy to see if she/he could leave the tooth as well as the money. See how that goes. Saves you storing a heap of teeth somewhere and being found out as the Tooth fairy. Throwing them out also makes you feel a little bad...

I have had 4 kids and with each tooth taken by the "tooth fairy" I threw away all but one from each child. I put scotch tape around it and mark the childs name and the date, and will give it to them when they have their own child just for memories.

If it's her first tooth, why not keep it for sentiment's sake? I know my mother still has a bit of hair from my first haircut - and I'm 42 now. (She hasn't any teeth of mine as far I'm aware though.) If you do want to dispense of it, I don't think it matters how.

Make your own decision. Maybe you can keep it to remind her of when she lost her first tooth.

I have kept some of my daughter's teeth in a little container, its kind of cool for them to see later. If she decides later to toss them then do, but I'd keep em for now.
