anyways since you JUST got it pierced and for the next couple weeks it will be red, sore, a bit sowllen for th first week and lymphing (discharge, which is the crust you are describing) mine is 6 months old anddischarge is still comign out. they take a long time to heal.

but NEVER use neosporin (ointments) alchohol, or hydrogen peroxide on your piercing these are all very harmful trust me! just use the anti bacterial soap, sea salt soaks and the afterare pierce solution they shouldbe given you.

but the top of the piercing will be red for a few weeks, my frined and i got our done together and ours were both red on top for 3 weeks

an infection would indicate excessive swelling. pain. alot of redness and green or yellow dischage coming out from the piercing. but what you are experiencing is normal. and you will experience this for a few weeks.

good luck

neosporing will only give you an infection you are putting on a thick substance around the exit hole for the discharge. the discharge wont have any where to go causing a moist environment perfect for an infection..... no ointments at all!

also an infection cant dpread to your organs in very rare! cases it can and this is for one "true navels" basically an outie. but if you get an infection and cant get to your organs. trust me.... ive read about it take a look...

i have done mch research please do not use neosporin! it wil only do more harm than god as i stated above and if you're curious hudrogen peroxide and alcohols will only dry out. kill the good bacteria and tissues, irritate it, and cause a longer healing duration. Piercers should also tell you this when telling you abotu the aftercare.... they did for me.. and just researched online why.

When did you get it pierced? If it's new a little red is OK. If you have had it for a while then red is a sign of infection and/or irritation. Your "belly button" is a direct line to your liver. If you suspect your piercing is infected DO NOT TAKE IT OUT. This can lead to several very painful kinds of cysts. How would you like to be stuck with an ugly hard bump where the piercing used to be for the rest of your life? Instead go back to the original piercer and he or she will give you the best advice, hopefully. Do not use gooey Neosporin types on your piercings, they attract dirt and moisture build up which in this case you are trying to avoid. Think of it as a puncture wound. Plain soap, no fragrance, no color is best. Comes in a bar, Dove makes one and so does Ivory. Make sure nothing is rubbing on it, AND ONLY TOUCH IT WHILE CLEANING IT IN THE SHOWER. No matter what you think, your hands are filthy.

Just a tidbit, "belly button" and tongue piercings are by far the most dangerous piercings out there, (except of coarse extreme dermal punching and implants) but the most common.

I'm sure it's fine. I have mine periced too. I went throught the same thing. You should wash it when you shower with diluted antibacterial soap. Also move the ring around once in a while and put some ointment like neosporin on it. It will be sore for a while. It also helps if you have a bar type pericing apposed to a ring. good luck!

This is fairly normal. If it is causing a feeling that annoys you continue to put disinfectant on it because no matter how bad or odd it looks now I guarantee that it will look worse if it gets infected. Rinse it with saltwater which can help the healing of it. If liquid starts to come out of it go to your doctor. If the piercing is still recent then the redness is normal. If it doesn't go away within the next few weeks there may be some concern. good luck and i hope it looks good.

It is natural at the start of the healing process. An infection will be more of a yellowy or creamy goo that oozes out. It's as nasty as it sounds ... trust me. The crust is just the plasma fluid collecting and drying, keep it clean and use pain releiving neosporn on the skin ONLY, do not touch it to the holes or ring. That should help with some tenderness until it's more healed. Other than that it sounds good so far.

Well naturally it will be sore, some people tend to have more sensitive skin than others and more often than not turns red. Cleaning it more often can hep with the crust, since our bodies are tought to heal, the crust is an effect of that. And if it is infected your best betis to go to the doctor, because it can spread and that will be twice as expensive.

sounds pretty normal.. its going to be red cuz its irritated, and it is going to puss and have discharge, thats normal as well.. the person that did your piercing should have told you that. just clean it whenever your in the shower, and roll it around (its easier if you got it pierced with a circular ring rather then a bar (cuz the bar is going to keep getting caught on things like your jeans and make it more irritated). but yeah clean it in the shower each time you wash and roll it around with soap ( they should have given you a chance to get some soap for piercings but other soap will work just as well.. just may sting more) .. so to answer your question, all of those conditions are normal.. its going to be red, going to puss (the puss will turn to crust) so just wash it and rotate it around the ring or bar by using soap and you should be set.. its going to do it for a while too so dont worry about it just keep it clean and within 2-3 months all of that junk should go away... good luck

No, it is not contaminated. do no longer use any ointments, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide. If absolutely everyone which comprise a piercer tells you to apply hydrogen peroxide run in the different direction! for sure they have not have been given any theory what they're speaking approximately. go away the piercing on my own as much as conceivable. I propose doing heat sea salt soaks on it as quickly as interior the morning and as quickly as at night, utilising h2ocean some circumstances an afternoon, alongside w/provon cleansing soap interior the bathe. swimming pools are no longer stable on your piercing the two. Swimming is a stable thank you to get an infection. If it grew to become into contaminated it may be painful and pussing. If it is going to become contaminated do no longer take the jewellery out, bypass on your piercer and have them take a seem at it.

It is natural for it to be a bit red and have a bit of crust around it, but you have to make sure you take care of it the proper way. If you are worried just call the person(tattoo/piercer) that did it and ask them about it , and they will tell you, they are trained for that sort of thing and its not charge.

I am a licensed cosmetologist and a nursing student. Please take care of your piercing, you can't afford to be cheap. Keep it clean and dry. You may use Neosporin or Bacitracin ointment even the store brand of a triple antibiotic ointment will work. I highly recommend visiting an urgent care or emergency room if you think its infected, hell the worse case scenario will be a bill later in the mail, but that's better than getting umbilicutitis, infected belly button, it hurts and it smells!!
