when you date one of your closest friends,and you break up they think the friendship has to be over to, I don't feel that way, but some of my past boyfriends and close friends have.

I'm also the type to break the friendship, once the relationship messes up, because that back & forth soap opera drama stuff is very unhealthy, girls seem not to care about unresolved conflicts, but a real man like myself doesn't wanna be tied down to that ...
The saying goes " It takes a bigger person to walk away from a fight "
That applies with partners too, sometimes it's best to just move on !

Some can do that, usually they never really seperated from being friends, but most cannot go back after being more than friends it's a hard step and no one should ask anyone to do that.
I dadted my best friend in HS and we broke up, took me 5 years to be able to talk to her again as a friend and even then a very distant friend

maybe because when the relationship is over its over., the best way to get over someone is to cut ties for a while. when you stay friends with an ex then its messy, there are still feelings and ect etc. thats wh you dont date a guy if you value their friendship.

It's difficult for us guys to end being intimate with women...then looking to them as just friends. Next thing you know your out having a drink as friends and we want you to come over and watch a movie, then you go because no one is hitting on us. The night gets late and we want more......So, they'd rather not have you at all!

sometimes its too painful to be around someone you have bad experiences with, they'd rather just forget the whole thing ever happened, and thats ok. you cant force someone to want to have a connection with you

whats the purpose of a friendship? if its over, its over. If it has to do with trust, then there can't be a valid friendship either.

its occwered to us to hav a girl friend then all of a sudden were just friends agian the best thing to do is a) give it time or b) forget about him

Either because they feel akward around you or hate you. I thought that with my ex but now, becoming friends with her again.
