.....any different than his command for people to not have sex before marriage?

the reason i ask is because that while a huge part of the christian church cannot admit that homosexuality as a sin is suspect, a huge part of christians set aside the whole "no one can have sex before marraige" thing becuase they know in their heart that god couldn't care less if two responsible adults make love.

are the commands any different?

The bible was written by a barbaric, morally reprehensible, scientifcally illiterate people. Have sex. With whomever you want. And trust science. Ignorance stinks.

In my opinion, everyone has to decide what is right or wrong in their own hearts, regardless of what religion they belong to. If someone thinks that homosexuality is a HUGE sin largely because they're not gay and it's easier to condemn someone else than to look at themselves, then frankly, I think they're doing more wrong than the people they look down upon.

Times change- and we have to change with them. Deep down we know this. It's why nobody follows the rest of the laws in Leviticus. Does anybody really care about the command against mixed fiber, or the one against dairy and meat together? (aside from those who keep kosher laws, of course). Or how about the one on how to properly make a sacrifice? People shouldn't just say "I care about THAT commandment, and the rest of them are outdated nonsense" but they do it anyway.

Sex outside of marriage (one man and one woman) is fornication. Fornication is a sin. Sin, any sin is an abomination in the eyes of the living God.

Sexual sin is mentioned throughout the Bible in many, many different places. The reason being...it's an issue to God and that means it's also our issue.

God wants two responsible married adults having sex. That is why He created Adam and Eve.

According to Paul and the OT, homosexuality is "an abomination".

According to Paul and the OT, the act of a woman wearing jeans like a man would wear is "an abomination".

Same word. Hypocrisy comes out in the interpretation. "Oh, it doesn't mean a woman can't wear jeans but it does mean that gay men can't get married." Oh, camelpoop. The biblical laws consist of logical rights and wrongs that are as true today as they were then, but with a few contemporary social no-nos also thrown in.

Common sense tells you homosexuality is not wrong, nor is a pair of jeans on the body of a woman. But unfortunately common sense among religious people is fairly uncommon.

I don't know any Christians that set aside any of those items. So the answer is that your whole premise is incorrect about what Christians believe and teach. Both are sins without any question in Christianity. Most of the posts on this topic demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge of Christian theology. Really frustrating to see all the hate for Christianity combined with a total ignorance of the faith. Hate an ignorance often go hand in hand I suppose.

Well im probably busting my own *** here (no pun inteded) but homosexuality is a demonic diety posessing you. I have witnessed a priest doing an exocism on a gay guy and he was like all shaking and rattling and doing scary stuff with his eyes while speaking in a weird voice, and al that from a gay guy. I mean whoaaaaaa does everyone think God made gay people ? Is it Adam and Eve or Adam and Steve ? Another thing. Jesus always greeted his deciples and followers with a kiss ? Why is it so wrong to kiss a good guy friend today ?

The commandment against illicit sexuality is there to control rampant sexual activity. There are hundreds of thousands of abortions performed around the world each year not counting all the unwanted children people beget by mindless sex. Do you think God couldn't care less about those?

Which command are you talking about?
The one in Leviticus, in the same chapter as the one that says a woman having her period must lock herself away hidden while she's having it, and can't be seen or touched by anyone? That's the one that shows such "selective enforcement" by christians, since they scream about the first but ignore the second...and they're even in the same chapter of the same book!

There is no evidence that there is any god. And even if there is, since "he" allows homosexuality and doesn't strike people who do it with lightning bolts, it can't be anything he cares about. Why christians are so obsessed about what people do in their bedrooms is beyond my understanding...

Yes of course it is different. All sins are not equal and the same as loud as some protest that they are. The punishment for homosexuals was that they both be put to death. The law is all that is saving you now. So if I was you I wouldn't try to push it. Sex involving butt holes is disgusting and despicable.

How could homosexuality be a sin when Jesus was openly gay , enjoyed it, and no one had anything negative to say about it ?

Homophobia is a very recent mental disorder. When the ancient middle eastern tales an legends like the Bible were written, it was an uncommon disorder.
