My wife is a grade school teacher and is always catching some kind of bug. these are a few home remedies that we've learned that work best for her.

Depending on your symptoms I would suggest taking the energy booster Emergen-C. It's about 1,000mg of vitamin C and 32 mineral complexes as well as vitamin B.

Eat plenty of hot soups and drink hot tea with honey and lemon. This will sooth the throat as well as temporarily open up your sinus passage in case you are congested.

gargle with salt water two times a day and if you can tolerate it, use a salt solution to clean out you sinuses with a Netty pot or squeeze bottle. this flushes out a lot of mucus and unwanted Flem.

Eat plenty of cough drops also to sooth your throat to prevent a lot of coughing, irritating your throat further.

When you go to sleep rub Vick's vapor rub on your chest and front and back of your neck. Rub a tiny bit in your nose to help congestion at night.

Be sure to bundle up at all times avoiding any exposure to cold air. Even when you go to sleep.

make sure your hydrate yourself, Vitamin water usually works best.

Above all the most important thing to conserve your energy. Remember when you do suddenly feel better you should rest. Just because you body feels better doesn't mean that your over being sick.

Good Luck!

Airborne, get it right over the counter. It's suppose to be at the first signs of a cold, or before is better; however, I have found it works no matter when you take it. Isn't magic, but it works almost like magic. Extra vitamin C is always good at shortening a cold also.

Good luck in class!

I recently just got over a cold.

My advice for getting over a common cold:

- Drink lots of water. (Flushes out your system).
- Purchase some cold & flu tablets.
- Try and get some rest.

I have had my flu for 7 days and I'm just starting to get over it. Each person is different and the time it takes to get over a cold can vary.

If you have stuffy sinuses, a remedy my mother use to make me do when I was sick and couldn't breathe through my nose. If you get a large bowl, pour boiling hot water in it, get a towel, then you can put some vix in the bowl and cover your head with the towel and breathe in really deep. The steam should clear your airways.

garlic can help by killing the cold virus. use fresh garlic since it is the most effective. pull one clove off the garlic bulb and crush it into paste. then just put the paste into a bowl of chicken soup. chicken soup has a rep for helping with colds because it usually has garlic in it as a spice. do this twice a day. it will shorten the length of your cold and help with your runny nose in the meantime. the only prob is that it will give you really bad breath. parsley can help with that. also, drink plenty of water and rest as much as you can.

You need Vitamin C, keep yourself hydrated and when you have phlegm, get rid of it. Tylenol Sinus and Cold and is a good one, so is Dristan. I get colds all the time. oh, and if you smoke, try to cut down.

Try taking Airborne. It works great. And try that Cold MD stuff and get the thing where there's a cup and you sniff it and you're cured or something?

Drinking plenty of fluids help. Especially warm soups that open up your nasal passages and sinuses. Getting plenty of rest is also a requirement.
