I have a Sony DCR-DVD92. I record on RW+ DVDs. Recording and playback are fine on the camcorder however I have problems playing the DVD on other devices like PCs or DVD players.

When I have filled a DVD is there another step I need to do to "finalize" the DVD so it is recognizable in more devices?

And when I eject a DVD and attempt to read the files with a PC there are no files shown on the DVD. Is that because I haven't done something like I mentioned above?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, you do need to finalize the DVD before most DVD players can play it. The setting is probably under setup or something like that. I have the Sony DVD201; its DVDs will play on just about any set-top DVD player after I finalize them.

Your computer still won't recognize the files on the DVD, probably, because files on a DVD are organized differently than data files are on a CD. If you are trying to get the video into your computer so you can edit it, use a program like Pinnacle Studio 10.5 to import from DVD, edit, and burn a new DVD.
