Belly dancing relieves stress and increases flexibility and mobility. It thoroughly but gently works every part of your body. You learn grace and poise, while putting yourself in touch with your feminine side. Bellydancing is both a relaxing and enlivening dance that can help tone the body and improve body confidence. Its physiological benefits include improved fitness, better circulation, suppleness and correction of postural alignment. On a body confidence level, many women feel they have regained their 'feminine self' and become more comfortable with their bodies through bellydancing. Here are some physiological benefits of bellydancing:
*Improved circulation *Improved suppleness *Increased joint flexibility *Deeper breathing, better oxygenation of blood *Relaxing and calming, reduces stress *Possible aerobic exercise workout - burns fat, raises metabolism and improves resting heart rate *Tones all major muscle groups - legs, thighs, calves, gluteals, abdominals, upper arms, back *Reduces cellulite *Eases PMT symptoms *Prepares major muscle groups for pregnant women to assist the birthing process

It's great exercise and it's fun!! You do get abs, but from the experience of doing a show with a belly dancer who was a size double zero, the word Belly in the name of the dance style really is the key word. It looks a lot better is you actually have a little something there, a little meat on you bones, otherwise you just look like you're sick. Loads of people were kinda grossed out.

Absolutely amazing abs!!!! Its a great way to get a very toned low impact workout focusing on your abdominals and pelvic and hip muscles....you will break out in a light sweat and feel incredibly sexy the whole time, I thought it was a lot of fun.

Makes you feel and look sexy. You can incorporate the moves in the clubs too. I used to feel like I wasn't a good dancer (in clubs) but that little problem is now history.

Unfortunately, I think I feel awkward trying to do that stuff! lol But, for instance, look at Shakira. She pretty much always does that type of dancing. It really does work your abs and gives you a nice, skinny but fit look.
