Do You Think Christians Are Persecuted Around the World?
250 Million Christians Will Be Persecuted in 2007

250 million Christians worldwide will face persecution in 2007, simply for following Jesus Christ, according to persecution watchdog, Release International. In particular it was found that persecution is growing the fastest in the Muslim world.

Release has found that most persecution takes place in four distinct ‘zones’: those of Islam, Communism, Hinduism and Buddhism. But persecution is growing fastest of all in the Muslim world.

Governments in even moderate Muslim countries often fail to safeguard the rights of their Christian minorities, explains RI. Abuses suffered by Christians include kidnapping, forced conversion, imprisonment, church destruction, torture, rape and execution.

One of the world’s worst abusers of religious freedom is Saudi Arabia, guardian of Islam’s holiest sites Mecca and Medina. Saudi Arabia forbids all other religions. A Muslim found ‘guilty’ of converting to Christianity could face the death...

Chritians are persecuted in muslim countries and some communist countries. I think those figures may be an exageration though.

However here in the United States it is usually the christians doing the persecuting of non christians expecially pagans.

I will fight to make sure all people Christian and muslim and any other religion has the right to beleive the way they feel is right for them, but I will also fight to have the same rights as Christians.

Religious freedom should be just that freedom to be the religion you think is best even if it is pagan.

The answer is yes. There are more Christians persecuted now than ever before in history and it will only get worse.

I know there will be answers like: look what the Christians have done over time. Yes and look at what the Muslims have done and look at what the cultists have done...it's a never ending story of who has been persecuted or who is doing the persecuting.

That's not an excuse to persecute. Ever. Period.

We are all human beings. We are all God's children, whether you worship Him or not.

Unfortunately 'Release International' is just a coverup for a fundamentalist Christian rag with no credentials or credibility whatsover. Christianity is still the single largest religion in the world, and the other religions have no more nor less tolerance for Christianity than Christianity has for them. Except of course for Buddhism, which tolerates and accepts ALL other religions and persecutes NO ONE.

Nice try.

Remember Saudi Arabia and the US are allies.
I wonder what would happen if Bush forbids all religions except Jehova Witnesses?

ROFLOL!
NO!
Look I don't think that Christians are persecuted. Jews are. Wicca'/pagans are lord knows that Atheists are but very rarely are Christians persecuted. It's usually Christians that are persecuting other religions or views of choice!

All religions experience persecution in different parts of the world. Atheists and Agnostics are also persecuted for their lack of belief in any religious figures or gods.
