Although not really a story, my favorite chapter is Jacob 5 - or the "Allegory of the Olive Tree". This chapter is amazing! It's inspired and insightful. Here Jacob quotes another ancient prophet named Zenos who compares the events of this earth with an olive vineyard with Jesus as the Lord of the vineyard. It symbolically details past events that have happened and even peers into the future and events that will happen in the last days, many of which are now happening. I would suggest reading this chapter carefully some time.

I like 3 Nephi 17 where Jesus Christ blesses the little children individually, and angels come down to minister and talk to them personally. I also like 3 Nephi 23 where Jesus Christ asks the prophet Nephi why the account of the partial resurrection that had already started had not been written down, when many saints had appeared to people. It makes me think 1) That Jesus Christ wants people to know that the Resurrection is a very real event and has already been set in motion, although the vast majority of it is still coming up; and, 2) Even prophets need to be reminded of what is most important to write, which shows that nobody is perfect and we all have need of God and Jesus Christ in our lives. You can find the scriptures online at any time at www.lds.org on the left hand side where it says "Scriptures" - so thanks for asking and have a happy day.

My favorite is Nephi's prayer found in 2 Nephi 4:17-35. But I like to start in verse 15.
I also really like the Book of Enos.

I like the story of Ammon. It is in the middle of the Book of Mosiah. My favorite chapter is 3 Nephi 11 when Christ appears to the Nephites.

The conversion of Alma the Younger is my favorite. It can be found in Mosiah 27. The reason is this is somewhat how I was brought back to the truth of the LDS Church. Minus the Angel and three days of unconscienceness.

I would have to say the story of Shiz and Coriantumr, Ether 14-15
And to "Indecent Truth Exposure"... Joe Smith is a basketball player for Philadelphia. Our former prophet is Joseph Smith Jr.

Wow...so none of these people answered your question...I will.
I don't really have a favorite story, but I have a favorite 'book' - I LOVE the book of Alma. Everything he writes is so eloquent and poetic almost.
Very insightful.
Good luck.

I like the story of the people of Limhi. But I also like the old war tactics used, which is one of the reasons why the 2 thousand warriors survived, along with their faith of course.
