No point in buying a new one until the dog is house trained. Try cleaning it. Sounds like it's more of a rug then wall to wall carpet. That makes it easier. You can take it outside and hose it down with some cleaner.

Well you could always do that but if in the future you get nicer carpet and prefer not to have stains on it you could always rent a carpet cleaner or there is cleaner that we buy all the time called Capture (I have a puppy as well) It seems to work wonders. Its a multi step thing though (Like you have to dab the bulk of it up of course then mist it with smell eliminator and then you put this powder on and rub it in you wait so long and then vacuum it all up) Seems like a lot of work but if you ever have more than 20 dollar carpet. You could always wait till the puppy is trained to get new carpet. (although I have a full grown dachshund and she still pees in the house she doesn't even try to make it to the door or warn us just a very stubborn dog I guess.)

Don't worry! It's often like that for puppies. Only yesterday I was visiting a friend and her new puppy as it urinated at least five times as left faeces twice. A range of products are available to prevent this however find out how long after drinking your puppy urinates. Then you can sit it on some newspaper a few minutes before its due. When he has done its business praise him lots. If he pees on your carpet dont shout or swat him. Say in a calm yet firm voice No.
Hope this helps.

Your dog is clearly enjoying that carpet and if it's a cheap one and you want to teach the dog to go outside then I would move that carpet to the back porch and let your dog use it for a while until he/she learns to go out there.

As KJ said, no point in replacing it until the puppy is housetrained.

If you are concerned about getting rid of the pee smell (and who wouldn't be, especially since it can make housetraining that much harder), there are a couple of good cleaners you can try.

Nature's Miracle is a great enzymatic cleaner. It's available at PetsMart/PetCo, or online.

You can also try Anti Icky-Poo, another enzymatic cleaner. Dumb name, good product.

Good luck!

Just use club soda on the spots; it works wonders. As does potty training.

Do you really want to replace your carpet every few weeks?

better remove your carpet and when your dog grow up you can put it back washed or buy new for 20 $

Either that or diapers for your pooch. I think the carpet would be the cheaper way to go.
