The first step is to identify as it is happening. That usually helps. I then try just breathing at a slower rate and think to myself to calm down.

Exercise is the best cure! When you start to feel yourself getting to that point, go for a walk or to the gym or to the pool or whatever physical activity you like best. Movement and fresh air are the best non medical ways to treat anxiety and or depression.

Try to remove yourself from the situation if possible. Breath calmly, and steadily. Regulating your breathing will help to adjust your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervouc systems. (Responsible for the fight or flight response) and focus on calming your body. You may want to remind yourself that you're ok, and you don't need to worry.

Before you get to that point. It may be beneficial to understand just why you get anxious, and what it is you're anxious about. You can do some research about it, or perhaps have a professional help you to understand.

Good luck!

I had anxiety really bad and my doctor put me on prozac. It helped a lot. I was on it for 3 months and then I was able to get off it. I fee a whole lot better. Some people need to take it longer. It all depends on your situation. There are many other medications for that besides prozac.......

I have anxiety problems. I am taking a medicine called Buspar to help control my anxiety. It has done a good job. I have noticed less stress and lower blood pressure as well.

Seriously and not being rude or something related, get terapy. If you have to ask about it it's better to ask this to a doctor instead.
