I have heard that the ratio of women to men is 13 to 1. I don't know if thats correct but with all the people in the world now it is surprising that people still have a hard time finding someone. I personally think WHEN and WHERE you seek companionship matters immensely.
WHEN - means at what point of your maturity throughout life. Also what goals your have achieved and if you are ready for companionship. Some people believe the best time to make yourself available is after you have established yourself financially, being independent and accomplished some goals pertaining to your future is a good time to seek a partner. Although hormones, and the general need for another person in your life sometimes makes you seek early. There is nothing wrong with this as long as you are selective. Never be desperate for companionship.

Where you seek is important. I don't advise seeking a long term partner in bars or nightclubs. However that could be a plus depending on your luck and who is there the night you seek.
I hope this was helpful. I didn't think I would ever find someone but at only 24 I can say just be patient. I felt the same way at 19.
