Why bother with the church part?
The people in the church on Sunday whining about the people that had fun on Saturday are the biggest hypocrites

I used to do that when I was in middle school, but the only reason I was going to church was because my parents made me. It wasn't a hypocracy thing; I would not have been in church if it was up to me. I go to church now because I want to, and I don't get drunk any more. Not sure why a person who chooses to go to church would be getting drunk. Maybe they go to church to make themselves feel better. Or perhaps they're trying to have life both ways. It probably depends on the person.

They'll even say Jesus turned water into wine and the Bible says to drink a little wine. Most do it, no matter what the excuse, to fit in or because of an addiction.
I was brought up in a church where after mass, everyone met at the local bar for a couple (plus) drinks.

One thing doesn't neccesarily invalidate the other. Sometimes there's a cultural thing that needs to be taken into account. For example, when I lived in the UK people used to go from choir practice directly to the pub where they drank until closing time. Then everyone would show up for Sunday morning services. At lunch time they would drink again and show up at nightfall for evensong. This drinking wasn't always in moderation.

Zimmi

Most people don't get drunk on Saturday nights. Most who do don't attend Sunday church.

Those repeatedly getting drunk on Saturday night, and unable to stop are alcoholics and are therefore ill. Judgement of alcoholics is a sin as you are judging individuals for having a disease.

Alcoholism is one of the most deadly diseases afflicting humankind. Would you judge a diabetic having out-of-control glucose on Saturday and going to church on Sunday? Would you judge a schizophrenic for having hallucinations on Saturday and going to church on Sunday?

Getting drunk on occasion is one thing, but alcoholism is another. Please don't judge a disease.

Why do people celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas and one week later celebrate the New Year?

Why do people observe Lent, yet drink, party and celebrate Fat Tuesday?

Why do people celebrate Halloween when it's All Soul's Day?

paganism?

Becuase they think that going to church and acting christian-like the rest of the week will cancel out the drinking they did one night of the week.
