My brother was in a relationship with a girl in high school. Soonafter my brother graduated he went a little crazy, he had several psychotic episodes that lasted months. We don't know what the 'cause was and the doctors couldn't find a clear diagnosis for his disorder. During this his ordeal his girlfriend came to me and told me that there was a possibility that she could be pregnant. His girlfriend told my mother that she wasn't sure who the dad was, while her sister told me that the only reason she was saying that was because she didn't want her daughter to be raised by a crazy father. Fortunately my brother got better. Moreover, the baby's mom filed for child support and because my brother wasn't recognized the father at birth he needed to take a DNA test to be recognized as the father. Results came back and it turns out he's not the father. The baby got used to him (my bro). The baby cries for him. She tells her aunt that Rudy who's the mom's husband dosn't love her. What to do?

I think that this sounds like a very sad situation, although, I do not understand what the potential child abuse is??

This is a Very sad case. Your brother could always ask the baby's mother if he could still have visitation and spend time with the baby. If the mother agrees get your brother to write out an agreement that allows him certain time with the baby. Get the mother to sign it and get two witnesses(not relatives) to sign. In Australia that is a legally binding contract... As hard as it would be your brother has to keep the baby's mother on his side to get any visitation with the kid... Good Luck....

what a mess, and on top of it an innocent kid in the middle of this whole thing. well my brother married a woman who had kids the marriage did not work out, but he still maintained contac with the kids I am very proud of my brother for that I gues its you don't divorce kids you diveorce the spouse and obviously my brother has feeling s for her kids, and if your brother can maintain contact with the baby without getting drawn into the rest of the insanity that the mother is loaded with then he should and if the mother won't let that happen then your brother will have to move on, life is hard.

There is nothing you can do, it is now none of your business. It never was your business. your bro is not the dad, move on. If step-daddy doesn't love the baby/mom that's the moms problem not yours. It is not abuse to not love a person.
BTW if your bro gave her $$$ because he thought he was the dad he can sue her to get it back in most states.

Go on Jerry Springer and smash the crap out of each other, but leave the kiddie at home, because that would be wrong on so many levels, unless you gave her an AK47 or something to even it up a bit.

This girl used your brother for what she wanted at the time. Really he should move on. Their are million's of good women out their who are just waiting to love a good guy like your brother.

disfunctionality at its peak.......hmmmm. HE,your bro, should do what HE wants to do.As for the law,the mother has the right to do whatever she wants as she is the sole guardian. If I were him id stay far away and dont look back....make pretend it was all but a bad dream.

i don't get what you expect to do, and how is that child abuse? it's not your brother's or your problem. he is not the father and should not have to do anything for that family. just leave them alone.
