Yes. That's the way many parents get their children to believe. "Either you believe this or you are going to burn for all eternity." Its a scare tactic just like the boogeyman.

Yes Very much so, and it starts as children. Parents put the fear of god into their kids so as to control them. Take a close look at those that claim to believe. It is really the fear of a god. I believe in separation of church and brain. Religion and god are on the way out. This is what is scaring all these fanatics. Born again, whats that? Do they get to ware there own hand me downs? Did there god make a mistake the first time. One more thought. If your god put jesus on this Earth to help the people. Why did he crudely whisk him away when he was needed the most. No, I think god is a joke and jesus the punch line.
Thank you. The PRAYNOGRAPHER. I am everywhere!!! You can't see me, you can't hear me, you can't touch me, but you will know that I am among you!!!!!!

Some are. But it is better to be saved because one feels Gods love. And be delivered from sins and born of God and have everlasting life. But, some are saved through fear.
Also, when one has rejected or rebelled against God, that person is blinded spiritually / spiritually dead. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of one sin. The Sin of not believing in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. So there is condemnation for those who reject Christ.
It is also written that the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge & wisdom.

I speak from experience! "Whosoever does not believe that Jesus is the Son of God is condemned already" or something like that. Talk about manipulation with fear! Would an all-loving God allow such a situation for anyone? How can you think clearly with the brain God gave you when all you can think about is burning in hell if I have any doubts whatsoever?

Yes, all of the time, through fear-mongering or guilt-trips.
"Don't you feel BAD that Jesus died for your sins?"
"Unbelievers will BURN IN HELL!"
I was also beaten into believing when I was a child. It's been a few years since I broke free of that household, and I have disliked Christianity and its bloody tenets ever since. However, I have met very few - read, VERY few - who are not frothing at the mouth about their religion, and they act like decent human beings.
So yes, many are frightened into believing, and the few I've met that were normal, they were gently raised in love in a Christian family, or they were given a choice and they chose Christianity.

Know that time is everything and God has a ordained purpose for everyone even people who dont believe, but it is written that before Christ returns everyone will hear about the word of God.

Jehovah is a designer deity: he satisfies those who want a loving god while intimidating those with masochistic tendencies (who prefer a god who spanks them when they're naughty). Jehovah was created to appeal to anyone who believes in the silent invisible.

Some are. You can tell it works sometimes just because it keeps coming up. Pascal's Wager is on here at least twice a day.

They can only be 'convicted' of damnation if they believe in God in the first place.

I don't think it's INTO so much as it's a good motivator to KEEP believing.
