I know what bulimia is I am just wondering I have been throwing up maybe a couple days out of every month for about 6 months now, I kinda want to lose weight but I did not think I was obsessed with it. Can you be obsessed with it and not realize it? I mean, my plan was to ride my bike more after I move to a first floor in January (I have a hip problem). I've ruled out pregnancy as I keep getting periods every month and also I have a kidney transplant that is doing fine, I just had that checked out too so neither of those is the problem. I would not be worried except that this seems to be recurring and I have never had any allergies to food in the past or anything else in the past, so I don't know what would be causing this. I sure hope it isn't bulimia. I don't want to lose weight fast, and I'm 160 pounds and only 4'10" so obviously I'm at least a little overweight and not obsessed about being fat when I'm not.

Talk to your nephrologist/urologist. If you have had a kidney transplant then you don't need to play around for time or with home remedies nor holistic bullcrap.

Bulimia, also called bulimia nervosa, is a psychological eating disorder. Bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge-eating followed by inappropriate methods of weight control (purging). Inappropriate methods of weight control include vomiting, fasting, enemas, excessive use of laxatives and diuretics, or compulsive exercising. Excessive shape and weight concerns are also characteristics of bulimia. A binge is an episode where an individual eats a much larger amount of food than most people would in a similar situation. Binge eating is not a response to intense hunger. It is usually a response to depression, stress, or self esteem issues. During the binge episode, the individual experiences a loss of control. However, the sense of a loss of control is also followed by a short-lived calmness. The calmness is often followed by self-loathing. The cycle of overeating and purging usually becomes an obsession and is repeated often.

My cousin had bulimia and she knew she very obsessed but she knew about it. You should stop before you become dependent on just that to lose weight because it will cause a lot of problems. You would know if you were obsessed with it.

here's the signs of bulemia:
Large amounts of food disappear or evidence of over-consumption such as empty wrappers or food containers.
Hiding food, particularly junk food, and /or eating in secret.
Evidence of purging behaviors such as vomit residue or odor, a stockpile of laxatives, diuretics or other purge-inducing medications, excessive exercise, or periods of fasting.
Frequent trips to the bathroom (public or otherwise) after meals.
Ritualistic lifestyles conducive to Bulimic behavior such as needing to be alone at certain times of the day in order to eat and purge in private.
Fluctuations in weight since Bulimia does involve eating.
A overly-rigid exercise program that is adhered to regardless of weather, illness, injury or social obligation.
Swollen cheeks and jaw area from frequent vomiting.
Discoloration of the teeth or dental decay from stomach acids.
Scars, sores and teeth marks on the back of hands and knuckles from self-induced vomiting.
Withdrawal from friends and family. Food becomes a "safer" companion that will not result rejection or hurt feelings.
Frequent weigh-ins throughout the day and/or excessive talk about food and weight.
Disgust with self or body, often paired with a distorted body-image.
**and yes, you could be bulemic and not realize it.

If you are eating then forcing yourself to throw up you may be considered bulimic , get checked out and be honest with your doctor about the problem.

Well, if your making yourself, and forcing yourself to throw up after every meal then you definitely have a problem but if this is just happening and you have no idea what is happening then i don't think it is bulimia.
