try peeling a pottato and cutting it in 1/2 and placeing it in the sauce till ready to serve, then simply remove and discard.
or add a touch of sugar to your sauce VERY LITTLE at a time, so you wont over sweeten it.

I have never done sauce from the jar, but when I make it myself, I usually add salt, pepper, garlic powder, garlic salt, an "Italian Seasoning" mix (which contains basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, marjoram and garlic) or simply some oregano, which is a great spice for just about anything Italian. Sometimes, I will add sliced olives to my sauce as it simmers, and while I favor ground beef, my husband really likes Italian sausage, cooked up in a frying pan and then added to the sauce. Basically, I would toss the sauce into a pot on the stove, and slowly add ingredients that interest you. Add a little bit at a time, one ingredient at a time. I only add a pinch or so of each of my spices at first, until I get the taste I like. Taste-test the sauce as you go. That's how I wound up with my little 'recipe' for my own sauce. :) Good luck, have fun, and good eating!

the question is what herbs and spices do you put in your spaghetti?? once I know this I can help you out. if it is a tomato based sauce, to lower acidic levels place a teaspoon on sugar in it and also for flavour add a little paprika. paprika is always good! The true italian way to make spaghetti bolognese is to just have beef mince, tomato base sauce and oregano. how bout you try thqat syle. basic but nice!
goodluck!

add a little cream to your sauce
it adds richness to ur sauce giving it a smooth consistency as well
and this will definitely cut down on the spiciness

lemon juice is also used to cut on the spicy taste of sauces but beware or using too much....

try just adding a little bit of sugar to it to cut out the acidity. you wont taste the sugar but just use a little. adding fennel gives it a nice authentic taste, mildly sweet, as well.
