I trust God, people make mistakes. I trust the Bible, so if someone tells me something that seems to go along with the Bible, I tend to trust them.

God speaks through the Bible and his Church as well. If someone is a good Bible Scholar, I trust him. But the Bible says that we should compare a man's teachings to the Bible because there have always been many false teachers.
2 Peter 1:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them - bringing swift destruction on themselves.

I trust God. There are lots of people who tell me about God, but it is up to me to find out for myself whether they are telling me the truth by looking it up in scriptures. If it isn't there, he isn't trustworthy. God will never lead you astray.
