I think Salvation Army takes them. Call around your local charities and see if they can give you a few suggestions.

Everytime someone in my family buys new spex we donate the old ones at the eye doctor's. we do the same with cell phones.

spec savers have recycling containers in their stores. i recycled mine back in July.
