I'm glad your taking this step to improve your life, its great. Ok you need to estimate how many calories you are eating a day, the recommended calorie intake for you would be around 2,000. If you are WAY above that, take a couple hundred calories off every week or so, if you aren't just try to get to 2,000 calories, don't go lower than 1,800. I know that its hard to get yourself motivated enough to exercise and stay on your diet but just think about the outcome, and how much healthier you will be. I would recommend keep a calorie intake and exercise journal. Start off by writing your current weight, and goals and calorie intake, then each day right down what you eat, how many calories you have eaten. You should have three well balanced meals, and two snacks(not junk food). Snacks could be fresh fruit, vegetables with dip, yogurt, ext... Try to stay away from fatty foods just as fast food, pizza... fish is great for you, you should meat in a size of a deck of cards( it should be close to that size) Don't over do it on the carbs(bread,rolls,..) Eat wheat breads as much as you can, i think it tastes better and it is way better for you. Drink milk and water, Eliminate pop out of your diet, that puts on a lot of calories. Remember to look at the serving sizes on foods, you might think you can eat the whole box or container but chances are their is more than one serving size. As for exercises, at home you can do many things for exercising, do a few crunches and push ups here and there and record them in your journal, walk around your house a bit more rather than just sitting down, when u walk around ur house do lunges, you can use canned foods as weights and do some arm curls, their are so many ways and if you need more just look them up on the internet, their fast easy and they work trust me. I hope this works for you and stick with it even though it might be hard at first, it'll be the best thing you can do for yourself. :)

eat a few times a day but smaller portions.
NEVER eat fast food again!
Eat whole foods, like carrots, and apples, and eggs, not prepackaged frozen meals, or canned soups with tons of preservatives.
Start walking places if they are under 2 miles away, take your time, plan ahead, and enjoy the walk (listen to some music or something).
Get enough sleep, and do not lie down unless you are planning on going to sleep.
Breathe deep!
***Just a comment*** you got to love all of these fools who think you need to see a doctor to lose weight. Did you know that we are one of the only countries that have that perception? We Americans are so supremely indoctrinated, and so comfortable with the idea that we are absolutely helpless unless we pay someone else for help (or buy something for help).
Stop being so hardcore addicted to food, you need to let go, cuz you are no different then the rat in the box pushing the bar for the food pellet. You need to take control of your tongue.

I think you should consult a physician first since you are younger, it may be a medical problem or thyroid problem? But the normal person should eat about 1200 calories a day. the key to losing weight is burning more calories than you eat. You should be eating whole wheat breads, drinking lots of water, fruits and veggies. Try walking every day for a half our, and start increasing to jogging and running. you should shed the weight really fast.

Being 15 years old you need to go to your doctor before beginning any kind of diet or exercie regimen. S/he can tell you best how to safely drop some weight at your age. (that is actually good advice for anyone who wants to lose weight)
Other than that, I can tell you that for my son (age 14) who wanted to lose some weight, we took him to his doctor who told us to simply get him to watch what he eats and let his body grow into his weight. The doctor challenged him to cut out one helping at dinner, to skip desert at least once per week, and to switch to diet soda. Within 5 months he was much closer to an ideal weight, not just because he lost some pounds (which he did), but because he got taller, which made the weight he had look much better and overall he was healthier.
Don't buy into all the crap other people are saying. Don't try to NEVER do something again (like eating fast food). Yes, it would be ideal to do that, but for most people it is unrealistic to completely cut out things that we are used to. You need to start slow and work your way into healthier eating.
Also, it never hurts to increase your physical activity. For my son, we got him a basketball hoop and I play with him for at least 1/2 hour every day when the weather is nice. He also wants to learn karate, which is great exercise.
Be smart about it. See your doctor. Don't give up or get discouraged, and good luck!

Ok, to stay the same weight of 260, you would eat 2600 calories a day. To lose a pound a week, you need to cut your daily calories by 250 and burn 250 calories a day. There are 3500 calories in one pound of fat. By cutting 250 and burning 250 (500 calories) daily, in 7 days that will equal 3500 caloires...ie, one pound. You can easily burn 250 calories a day by walking 30 minutes at a good pace. Good luck and keep thinking healthy!!

My recommendation is because of the kind of weight you want to lose is go see your doctor and he can recommend you to go see a dietitian so that you can learn what kind of foods to eat and cannot eat. Also join a gym and get a personal trainer which will help you out on how to exercise and what of exercise you require.

The average and healthy weight loss amount is a half pound a week. My highest recommendation is for you to completely cut out all refined sugars....all of them. You need to do at least one solid hour of cardio....you do not need to be winded when you walk but keep a constant steady pace...you will be surprised at how much this will help you . If you can't walk or do a steady cardio workout every day for one hour try to do an hour and a half at least 5 days a week. I wish you luck!!!!
Don't count calories...eat less refined sugar and refined flour (tortillas ans processed breads).

I did pretty well by eating 1500 calories per day. Eat lots of lean meats such as chicken breast and fish as well as a variety of vegetables (but watch out for starchy veggies like potatos and corn, they should be used in moderation). You can have some carbs as well, but limit them to one or two servings per day and make them whole grains whenever possible. i.e. whole wheat pasta, etc. Eat non-fat stuff whenever possible like non-fat milk, non-fat yogurt, etc. They taste different than full fat foods, but you get used to the taste after using them for a little while. Be smart about snack foods. Use reduced and low fat options whenever possible. Instead of chips and dip eat raw veggies and dip. Instead of ice cream eat non-fat frozen yogurt. Watch your portions. Try eating a small portion of the higher fat/higher calorie entree and add a large portion of steamed veggies and a salad with light dressing. cut out soda pop from your diet, switch to sparkling water or iced tea - or at least switch to diet soda. Drink lots of water (8 glasses per day is recommended) and exercise for at least 1/2 hour 4 or 5 days per week. Good luck to you!!

you will desire to start with the fifteen minutes of exercising... verify the labels and get the nutrition with much less sugar, and fattening ...stuff. walk extra, once you're watching television do it status up and flow around in the process the commericals. do not take the shortcut (walking someplace). consume little uncooked nutrition countless cases an afternoon. do exactly away with the chips, consume fruit, lean meat, lots of carbs in the previous you exercising. Drink water, lay off of the salty meals. And for the exercises, basically dance around. you may lose lots from basically dancing and hopping around...
