it all depends on what you want out of your trip. How far you're willing to travel, how much money you're willing to spend, how much time you have.
That being said, Greece is one of my favorite places, though depending on your timetable you'll only be able to see a small portion of Greece. Santorini is amazing but about 11 hours boatride from Athens. Athens is very interesting, with beautiful ancient ruins, and lots of culture.
Italy is also one of my favorites. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful and a very romantic & scenic place. Florence is very charming and quaint. Venice is beautiful and awe-inspiring. The dolomites (I hear) are very beautiful in the summer and have great skiing in the winter. And its close to Switzerland, where in the winter has the some of the best skiing.
I am dying to go to Thailand, which I hear is amazingly beautiful. I could go on forever, but instead decide for yourself by researching.
A great book: 1000 places to see before you die.
Also check out Travel & Leisure Magazine, which always has great places to visit and good information.

I'll just copy the answer I posted for a similar question.
Hong Kong! They have best skyline in the world (according to many rankings/research), best food, best airport (rated as airport of the year by skytrax research for 5 consecutive years (2001-2005), best shopping, latest electronics for low prices, fashionable clothing for low prices, disneyland (very small though), and public transportation that is very convenient (MTR trains network that connects HK airport and disneyland with dozens and dozens of stations), etc etc. Most of the time, MTR trains are so frequent that another train arrives every 2-3 mins.

Greece would be my favorite. I'm greek. i've been to greece al over 4 times. take it from me. my favorite places in greece in kastoria (pronounced kas-tor-YA (northern greece). it has mountains and lakes and caves and even structers from way back! and Chalkadiki (pronouned hal-kithi-KI) which is near Thessaloniki (pronounced thes-ah-lo-niki) well known as Salonika. Chalkadiki is like an island, except better! If you are interested in ruins, Athens and Sandorini (a beautiful island).
and fiji is pretty nice too :)!

Greece & Turkey top my list. both beautiful (especially Greece) and also educational and awe inspiring. Was treated exceptionally well in both countries. Would go back to either if we had the chance and could afford another big trip.
