These are purchased at stores like Bath & Body Works and they claim these last forever, but wouldn't they need to be changed over a period of time, like towels?

I actually read the directions on my new one the other day and it recommended a new one every month.

I was replacing mine every week. But recently I've decided to use it only when my skin needs exfoliating. I use a liquid soap with lotion in it. When my skin seems to have build up from the lotion, I use the pouf. Otherwise, I use a soft washcloth.

On the Tyra Banks show she had a beauty specialist on that said never to use them because you don't wash them like wash cloths. It doesn't make since to me since those things seemed to get washed everyday with all the soap we put in them. Wash cloths don't seem to work as well either. I think we should just change them at least once a month.

i usually use one for a week, then get a new one. they're less than a dollar at walmart, so $4 a month is ok with me. after every shower i rinse it out and hang to dry. i live with two other girls, so we each have our own color pouf, no sharing!

Those are sooo bad for you! They breed all kinds of nasty things. A lot of skin conditions people have are because of those. Basically they just remove dead skin cells, you might as well not even take a bath. If you must use one throw it in the wash once a week.

i heard that those things gather BACTERIA FROM THE FIRST DAY YOU USE THEM!!! instead of using those, use washcloths...buy alot of those mini white wash cloths, rub soap on them and use it as a shower pouf...those can wash easily and will not gorw bacteria (Ew)....if u wash shower puffs, they will usally not get clean and will break open!

keep them rinsed , they should last forever, only check the place where they are tied in the middle, or attached to the handle. If it is clean there you are fine. If you decide you want another color , they can still be used for cleaning the tub, or sink, etc.

I change mine every month. Just think of all the dead skin cells and god only knows what else is in there. EWWWW! And just because it holds up and don't fall apart, don't mean you should use it forever! Would you use the same tooth brush forever?

As long as you wash them every couple weeks, they should last. Once they start looking raggedy, throw them out.
