I'm curious to know what people have done to try to prevent taking away animal habitats from housing?
Like when people destroy green spaces to create houses, they can take away natural environment and homes for animals. How have people tried to prevent this? Like making housing differently?

Recently there has been an increase in green real estate and archetecture - building homes that dont use as much energy or take up as much space. However the all mighty dollar still rules and there is BIG money in land development. Other than a few environmental groups, most people beleive that their well being should always be more important than some obscure tree frog or a rare plant. Americans use far more space per household than anyone else in the world and as long as we continue to demand sprawling suburbs and plenty of elbow room an dlots of nice wide streets to drive our SUVs on then nothing will change. There are lots of ways we could stop the problem but there arent many people willing to make the necessary sacrifices. I hope this helps.

In Calif. we are seeing a lot more three story townhouse development to reduce land use.

Unfortunately, given the choice, people need houses more than animals do. We need to stop having babies so fast.

I let the animals live in my house. I have an animal house. My wife calls me an animal, she hears me roar.
