I know cutting hair hurts. My hair used to be down to my butt and now it is short. I HATE IT. go to target and get some repairing shampoo. Just trim your hair. Not cut just trim. brush your hair and put some garnier hair shiner in your hair ( ok i do not know how to spell garnier but i hope you know what i mean). that will give it a nice shine and it will help hide then ends. Ok if that doesnt work then look in the garnier section. You will get shine cream. it is in a round container. Take a shower at night then put that in. And then take a shower in the morning and put put it in again. You could also get a hair trim and ask for the to do a razer cut at the tips. Then your hair will not look like split ends. Well it will be it will look cute and then it will look like you meant to do it. Also CUT DOWN ON THE BLOW DRYER. That damages the hair ALOT. I really want to help you out on this because it sound like you want your hair to look awesome. And you really want to get rid of your split ends. So i am going to list some split end websites that will hopefully help get rid of them.

There is really no way to get rid of them once you have them, unless by getting a trim. What you can do to prevent them, is get a gloss after you have your hair colored, only straighten the top part of your hair blow dry the bottom straight, and always use leave in conditioner and something that will protect your hair from heat and straightening. I recommend all bumble and bumble products. They make a great vitamin spray called BB prep, and all of their products are excellent. They are a little on the expensive side, so if you want something that isn't so expensive I would use Nexus, you can get it at walmart or cvs. I would also do a deep treatment once a week. Never use pantene pro-v, it causes split ends. Good Luck!

Getting a little bit trimmed will be a big help. The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them but if you take better care of your hair you can prevent breakage and new split ends. Try using conditioner only to wash your hair (no shampoo). Conditioner will actually gently cleanse your hair because it contains surfactants, but you have to leave it on for at least 3 minutes. Since heat damages hair, try not to use heat as much as you can to style your hair (I know that's a tough one) and use a leave in conditioner. If you must use gel, get a salon product with condiotners. Also take a multivitamin that has E in it and take Omega-3 supplements to.

It sounds like you need a deep conditioning and a good hair cut. As bad as your split ends are, I am afraid only a cut will take care of the problem at this point.

Do NOT color, straighten, etc. your hair for a good while. Let it just get healthy and grow naturally.

In about 6 or 7 months of taking good care of your hair and regular trims every 4-6 weeks, it will start to look nice again.

Yup, straightening definitly wreaks havoc on the ends of your hair. Go in and get an inch or two trimmed off the bottom, and talk to your stylist--she can probably tell you about a shampoo that will strengthen and protect your hair. Make sure you keep going in to get your hair trimmed--the more often it is cut by a liscensed hairdresser, the healthier it is.

Yes, straightening your hair cause split ends because of the heat, same with how you dry your hair. Well just get your hair cut layered but same length, thats a good way to get rid of split ends.
And get some shampoo and conditioner that helps prevent split ends. If your hair is really damage try getting Dove advance therapy shampoo & conditioner, it really treats your hair!

Unfortunately, you need to keep hair trimmed, but you can prevent them by only flat ironing hair once a week instead of a few times....get hair protection like aquage that makes your hair shine and at the same time provides protection while hot ironing it. Don't cut your hair up to your ears....just a little bit at a time. Make sure you try to get to the hair dressers every 6 to 8 weeks. make sure you get a great conditioner like biolage for damaged dry hair and always and I mean always use a leave in conditioner after every hair wash (try limiting the amount of times a week to wash your hair, the fewer times the better, that way your hairs natural oils can keep hair from drying out, try once a week, but if that can't work for you do twice, but no more than That) make sure your leave in conditioner has soy wheat in it......hope this helps honey!

I have long hair down past my waist and wear it twisted up 70% of the time.Up or down I receive at least ten compliments a day about it.I was going to cut it into a bob cut again about two years ago until I discovered Split Mender by Beyond the Zone.It is a leave in conditioner and it repairs, seals and smoothes split ends.It comes in an 8oz. purple bottle, and you can find it at Sally's Beauty supply.I could not have beautiful hair without it.Also trim about one half inch every two months!! Hope this helps!!!

I hate to answer this question but yes you need to trim your hair. You should of trimmed it before it went up to your hair. Not taking so great of your hair causes this. Use conditioner, it keeps the hair really healthy and you won't have much split ends. You must, must, must take care of your hair. You have to trim it, i'm sorry. But go to a hair salon just in case if you don't want to trim your hair. They may help.

Straightening your hair, brushing it when its wet and coloring it can cause it to split.
The only way you can get rid of the split end that you have, is to cut your hair. In the end though, your hair will be healthier and will grow faster.
