My daughter walks around crying holding her lower back saying that it hurts. She hasn't feel or anything like that.It seems to bother her more when she has to go "number 2" because she has been constipated to the point where she is freaking out on the toilet.I just want to know if anyone has been through this and any advice is welcome.....Thanks

I would first make an appoinment with her regular pediatrician. It might just be deferred pain from the constipation but better to be safe than sorry. The pediatrician xan then refer you and your daughter to another type of doctor if needed. Good Luck.

If she is constipated try giving her some apple juice or applesauce and water and lower the amount of milk she drinks until she is regular too. That worked when my daughter was younger. Hope she feels better soon.

That sounds pretty serious. She could have a cyst or something worse. I would get her checked out very quickly.

A toddler should not be complaining of back pain like that and if it hurts when she poos maybe there is something growing in there (a tumour) or she could have a rupture of something or a hernia, who knows. Let the doctor know and get some CT scans done fast.

Dont ignore symptoms. I ignored a silly lump on my kid's shin as he'd got hit by a puck there months earlier and it ended up being cancer.

Give her 3 teaspoons of mineral oil every day till she poops everything out, but constipation should make her lower belly or belly ache and not her back. I tend to think kidneys or something else. Maybe she had an injury or fall you are not aware of too.

Will she eat raisins or anything like that?? Honestly, as I was reading this, The first thing I thought was that she was having intestinal pain. You may want to make her an appointment if she doesn't end up regular real soon. You don't want to find out the hard way that she is blocked up. Often a doctor can listen for the bowel sounds with a stethoscope to her movement sounds. Better to be safe than sorry.

Before getting as far as her bathroom difficulties I was already thinking constipation. Try putting more fiber in her diet: fresh fruits and veggies, raisins, apple or orange juice. Your doctor could also recommend a stool softener to make it easier for her to go to the bathroom.

if your daughter is constipated, maybe she is pointing to her back. maybe she means her bum instead since the back is close to her bum. make her pick up a toy, if she picks up toy okay, maybe her back is fine. it could be growing pains. also, if she really is constipated, you should do something about it. see your doctor. also for constipation, give baby jar of prunes. it really doesn't taste that bad. is she don't like it, try to give her a teaspoon of it every hour or so. i know easier said than done, but if she hates the taste, get stern, mad and make her swallow it. hey, its only fruit and it really doesn't taste that bad. it smells good too. the prune baby jar really works.

It could be anything. You should take her to the doctor. Hopefully it's nothing more that being constipated. I know it's rough on the little ones, but you should take her and make sure it is nothing more serious, like kidney stones, her appendix.... etc

my daughter had this problem wehn she was 2! I took her to the dr and they did test but the best advice that i can tell you is to make your dr send you to a gastrointestinal doctor for children.. After all the testing they decided to send her to the dr but by then she was ok. and the pediatric gastrointestinal dr couldnt find anything bt told me if she has those symptoms again to come directly to him..

She may have a colon problem like my nephew ..

PLease make an appt for her pediatrican as soon as possible..

Take her to her doctor, it might be a kidney infection. Or it might be due to her constipation, which at her age she really shouldn't be having it so bad. If shes in pain take her and figure it out.

Bowel impaction? kidney stones?

My son (age 5) would hold his poop all day, and when he had to go it hurt him soooo bad.
Check with the doctor.
Son had to take milk of magnesia every day for 2 months.

It could be a kidney infection or a pulled muscle either way she needs medical attention.
