When do most american end of summer sales start to take place?

I'd like to visit on a 2 week shopping holiday.

right after labor day...which is usally the first week in september.

end of summer sales start in june. My friend works retail. Thats what is VERY strange about this country, like even right now, they are selling swim suits- and its FREEZING here! I remember last year, by june they stopped selling shorts and tank tops and started selling hoodies and sweaters and jeans. Good luck
