I have been to a Chiropractor & Physiotherapist now, but still have a really sore neck. I will be going back to see a different Physio next week, but i'm worried it'll never be back to normal. Can anyone advise please?

I have had an x-ray & they said it showed a minor Subluxation, that was after I saw the Chiropractor.

I don`t think a chiropractor is the answer, much too harsh on your neck!!!

Physio will help more, yes it will heal but will take time.

Don`t be tempted to support your neck too much as you need to build up your muscles which will support the bone better.

Good luck.

I would suggest you see a Neurologist and have an MRI. X-rays cannot detect herniated discs or nerve compression. If you do in fact have a herniated disc, chiropractic adjustments will only aggravate the situation. This answer comes through experience...I kept going to the Chiropractor and ended up with a discectomy, fusion and a metal plate and screws in my neck. Not to scare you and I sincerely hope it's muscular in nature, just be aware. Feel better.

You need to concentrate on the muscle that fastens to that particular vertebra...If it does not stay in its proper position, it is a muscle that prevents it from staying there...That muscle is in drastic need of being stretched out to take that pressure off the vertebral attachment. As long as it is not taken care of, no matter what treatment you undergo, it will not sustain in position. As soon as you begin to walk out of the treating office, it will be pulled right back out of place.

If this is only a minor subluxation, you should have little problem overcoming the extra tight muscle. Is something you have to do in addition to having the treatments. If you don't, you will have problems continuing for several years. and it will only get worse.

Unfortunately chiropractors use the word "subluxation" to keep you coming back. The problem; everyone has some form of subluxation, it happens as we age. You need to see an orthopedic doctor and have him/her evaluate you. They can find a coarse of treatment that will be more appropriate, and they will have the ability to help you manage your pain better.
