Yes, January 2nd is a holiday. It's a one-time-only deal for federal employees and any other who wants to take it, in honor of President Ford.
Officially, I think that means that if you worked today, you're entitled to time and a half.

Yeah I didn't get the memo either.....
I guess it's "National Day of Mourning for Pres. Ford" and the NYSE is not trading today...no mail...but my trash was picked up!
