Well I assume that you mean incandescent, ultraviolet, and florescent. The florescent bulb should work best. Some plants are different, but if you are using the wisconsin fast plant then the florescent bulb will be the best.

Am I missing something? Isn't the point of the experiment for YOU to EXPERIMENTALLY find out what works the best? Science is the search for truth, not an opinion poll.

Also, won't your teacher question you when you just say a certain light bulb works the best, but you have nothing to back it up with? Or are you an avid collector of "F"s?

If you just want a hypothesis, just pick a light bulb (enie, meanie, minie, moe). Your experiment will tell you if you are right or wrong.

Next time, start some time in September. And try the spell checker too.

Well, I remember seeing a science TV shows about 25 years ago performing an experiment like yours: they put different colors light in each plant. It resulted that the green light is the worst for the plants (logical, the green leafs reflect the green light), and the brown light is the best. So I think the best bulb will be the one that allows all the light spectrum to get to the plant. Good luck!

My guess would be the black light bulb because you will be exposing the plant to continuous light 24/7 so it will grow faster. If you use a white bulb you will have to shut it off after 8-10 hours so the plant reacts more to normal day/night hours as the normal growth does. I would think you are growing 3 separate plants, one by each source of light? This is just my own theory in quick response to your question. What about a 4th plant using just natural daylight? Maybe you can get extra points for the effort!

Okay, First of all, as you probably know, I am the famous Norwegian scientist under my sister's account.. 2nd of all finding out the answers for your science fair is cheating. If all you want is a hypotheses you should make it yourself.. You will get into a lot of trouble at school for plagiarizing. I know, because, I once was a 8th grade teacher, before I became a VERY famous scientist. You will most definatly get in trouble if a teacher found out.. WORK YOU OWN BRAIN

Ask your teacher for help or consult your book.
That really is your best option here.
