So i am breaking up with my boyfriend please dont ask why. Before christmas break, he gave me a diamond heart necklace. Should i give back the necklace or not? No, i havent broke up with him yet. Please help me

I broke up with this girl once who gave me a big box filled with just about everything I ever gave her after we called it quits. It struck me as immature and petty. Later she contacted me to see if I was interested in talking to her again, and if it hadn't been for that stupid box, I might've considered taking her up on it.
Keep the necklace and try wearing it. If it bothers you because of the association with him and the bad memories, then just don't wear it. You could even re-gift it to a friend. Just don't give it back to him.

when you go to the actual break up have it with you and tell him how you feel ect... so after you break up just ask him sincerely if he would like his necklace back and that you would understand if he does and hold it out, if he doesn't take it then at least you have a clear conscience, its always good to have something to remind you of the experiences you had with the person.

I think that since you are the one doing the breaking up it is the right thing to do to give it back since you just got it. Now if you would have had it for awhile than no I would say do not return it. Do the right thing and best of luck to you!

This is an interesting question. I believe that once you receive a gift, it is rude to give it back. But this all really depends on how you two feel. If he asks for it, give it back, if he doesn't mention it didn't. If your not comfortable with that, and your sorta on speaking terms, ask him if he wants it back....but don't make it seem like your doing it out of spite.

When you do break-up, give him the necklace back. A real man will say, "no...I bought that for you." and not accept it back and depart in peace (though it may hurt).
