I feel like some type of Nazi America is on the horizon. We don't protect our constitution, we lie to our citizens, we spy on our citizens, we bully other countries and steal from them... and we murder. Anyone else feel disillusioned?

Yes. This country is going the wrong way, downhill, and fast!
Unfortunately, thats just fine with about 50% of the people here, so we'll be walking a tightrope for some time....as long as we stay a democracy, that is. And thats not guaranteed the way things are going.

I do not feel disillusioned because it is happening in front of my face yet no one is doing anything except talking about it. Look at that law they just passed in NY about the trans fats, sure its bad for us, but as Americans do we not have the right to choose to become fat lazy slobs? I feel America, or the people running America (which is supposed to be all the citizens, not just political leaders) are going to the extreme christian point of view. Follow what I say, or else. They feel they have to "fix" every one and every thing. Admirable thought, but when you control things and people that is when it becomes un-American, yet they word all these new laws as "good for the whole" which makes people follow along with out question.

I think spoiled is a better description.
Please take an honest look at those accusations, and think about what we must do in order to survive. You might also want to keep in mind that there really are people in this world that would do ANYTHING to kill America.
We are not perfect, we never have been. But as a whole we do our best to help out all of mankind, sometimes it backfires, and some of mankind does not want other parts of mankind helped.
Nazi is a word used far to much in haste, please do some deep research on the Nazi's and what they did. We do not compare on any level to that.
We are not perfect, but we have the best system of Government around, even with it's faults.
By the way, do you vote?

I know American people don't stink but its hard to sympathise with your plight when half of you voted for Bush! Twice!!
Seriously America could fix everything within a generation if the education brought itself up to international standards and if the polititians were straight with the people. Blind patriotism is silly. The US government put Saddam in power and yet that kind of information is kept from the American public even though its not secret - also the media is blindly subservient - fox news is a disgrace.
