A Chevy Cavalier, Pontiac Grand Am or a Honda Accord would all fit you well.

Chevy Cobalt is nice and inexpensive. Ford Fusion is also nice and a little bit larger.

On both you should be able to get more than $1500 off the sticker price. Check KBB.com to get dealer's cost and current incentives.

A V-6 Mustang is a little more expensive...but way cool. The V-6 would have much lower insurance costs than a V-8 Mustang, which would be prohibitive for a new driver

I live in colorado, so Jeeps are a necesity in the snow. Cars without four wheel drive slide too easily. But if you don't need a Jeep, I would go for a Toyota Camry

VW New Beetles are very nice. Very safe too.
VW Golf is a safe vehicle too.
I would just recommend staying away from anything fast.

The new honda civic is beautiful and not too expensive. The older ones are very good choices as well.
