Tell him how you feel. I used to live in allentown, my dad worked at Rodale Press. Anyway, try out for the theatre, a coaching position, or irish-dance. Allentown has lots of fun things to do but you do have to make an effort for it. Actually, I didn't live in Allentown, I lived in Bethelehem (historic district) and my dad worked in Allentown but we used to eat at this Greek restaurant there all the time. Good luck! :^)

Best thing you can really do until your boyfriend quits pandering to a machine full time is to get out and find some people who share your like interests. Hook up with some of your coworkers after work. Join a civic club or volunteer group perhaps. Network, network, network!
