I lamented Saddam's death and lit a candle for him during intercession for the dead the last time I went to Liturgy. It's really sad that people would actually celebrate the hanging of a person.

No. It's wrong to wish death on anyone. That was the way I was raised. I'm glad Saddam cannot hurt anyone anymore but that doesn't mean I would celebrate his death. My friend on the other hand was screaming at the top of his lungs "YEAH!!!!!!!!YES!!".

While I support the death penalty..I do not think we should laugh, dance and jeer someone who is about to be put to death. The folks that filmed and mocked Saddam put themselves on his level. Life is sacred - Saddam didn't care about others but we should still respect him as a human.

No, I think he deserved to die, but celebrating would not be the right word. I think lots of people deserve to die, and a couple individuals deserve it so richly that I would piss on their graves, but that is personal, I did not know Saddam personally.

You know why they called him Saddam? Because he was Saddam Ugly LOL

No. From a New Testament viewpoint, those without sin might have celebrated his execution, except for the fact that no one is "without sin". I.e., no one had the right to execute Saddam Hussein -- or anybody else (according to the Christian bible).

I cannot celebrate the death of anyone who died without accepting God in their heart and Christ as their Savior, so that would be a No.

Absolutely not. I do not celebrate the death of anyone. I prefer to pray for their eternal peace.

I did watch in disbelief...scared to death what else was going to happen now...just because he is gone doesn't mean that the violence will stop...did you see all the people mourning his death? I think this is going to be a huge problem...
