Due to the constant hatred that comes from the atheists, I thought I would ask a "not really a question" question and see if the religious people think that atheism should be punishable by death (or at least by beating). What can be a worse crime?
We will see how long this question lasts. ;)

Notice the question was addressed to "Religious people" yet the atheists still made sure they got involved. It seems they just love to be involved in religion.

Of course not. As Christians, we are supposed to love EVERYONE, including the atheists. Besides, our job in this world is to show the atheists the good news, not judge them for thier beliefs, or maybe I should say non-beliefs. Yes, a lot of atheists are violent toward Christians, whether it be verbally or physically, but we cannot judge them. That is Christ's job. Besides, in most instances that I've seen, when an atheist acts out is this way, it is because they are empty and searching, and they don't even know it. They do this drawing attention to the fact that they do not believe so someone will show them the way. That's not always the case, but I've seen it a lot. The times that atheists are violent but are not actually searching, the reason is explained in the Bible. The dark hates the light. Those who do not know Christ walk in darkness, therefore they hate the light that shines through Christians. They themselves do not notice this, and would certainly deny it, but it's the truth. We cannot show judgement on anyone, even the atheists, we are supposed to love them, and continue to walk the path Jesus has for us, and just pray that somewhere along the way they will find His joy too. :-)

I'm an atheist and I don't hate any of you. I don't believe in what you believe in, but that doesn't bother me at all. I don't try to convert anyone and I don't belittle any of you that do.

If you could institute the death penalty for atheists, that would mean that you know which religion is correct. Then the question would be, "Why kill just the atheists when you could kill everyone that doesn't agree with you?".

I can't correct those of you that believe in a god or gods because I don't have any proof. Likewise, neither do you. And for that, we'll all have to agree to disagree.

I'm a Muslim and NO i certainly don't think atheists should be punished by death or be beaten. We all in this life have the right to believe or not believe what we like. It does not offend me in the slightest if someone is an atheist or of another religion that is opposing to mine. I have no right to tell them they are wrong just as they have no right to tell me.

I don't believe that just because you are an atheist that you should get the death penalty. As long as they follow the laws of the United States and keep out of trouble, leave them alone. And by the way, I am a christian and believe In God, who alone has the right to determine when we should die.

I am an atheists and am not full of hatred. I never mention it to others unless I am asked what religion I am. I teach all religions to my students with equal basis and like to celebrate traditions of all faiths with my friends. Just for the record I never shot an abortion doctor like the Christians, and I never blew myself up in a crowded market place like a muslim. You can find assholes of any faith. I have always wanted to adopt children from third world countries, I am a special education teacher. I love animals. Hmmm, sounds like the hate for certain people is coming from you.

Only a tiny fraction -- a negligible amount -- of atheists exhibit any hatred.

I don't believe they should be punished at all....I expect to see plenty of atheists in Heaven when I get there -- as well as many Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists and others.

Jesus said, "No-one comes to the Father except through me".....He did NOT say, "except through FAITH in me". God is not limited to His own criteria.

Proverbs says "A fool has said in his heart there is no God." But punishable by death? No. Jesus came to deliver those from darkness. Atheist are living breathing souls who have not come into the knowledge of God. Jesus died for them too. John says let us love one another, for love is of God. I'm glad my sins were forgiven and I dare not deny anyone a chance for them to receive forgiveness as well.

How ridiculous! Even though we disagree, does freedom of speech and religion mean NOTHING to you? Would YOU like to be beaten to death for being a Christian? I wouldn't!
