I like this guy who's about two years older than me. I'm only in 9th grade so he's in 11th. Is this to big an age difference and should I forget about him? I know I'm to young to be dating but I was just curious.

I don't think you're too young to date, but I do think you should start with someone your own age so you don't get taken advantage of (not just talking sex, there are other things too). Starting dating in highschool is a good thing, it gives you experience with people your own age that will help to keep you out of trouble when you are older. For now the age difference could be a problem, so yeah, try to find someone in your grade, or at most, one year older. Good luck!

Well it's normal in highschool for younger girls to date the older guys. It happens all the time actually.

I think 9th grade is a good time to start dating just watch yourself, be careful with the guy and take it as slow as you want.

I say talk to your parents first just to clear it with them but you guys are only two years apart, so I don't think it is that big of a deal. Just don't sleep with him!! Other than that, dating an older boy will probably boost your popularity level a bit.

That's not a big deal at all. I'm a sophomore in college, and I've been told that anyone within 5 years of my age is okay to date (although not necessarily legal if they are under 18), but still. Good luck!

Thats not bad at all. You guys could casually date or even go out. 9th graders are starting to have bfs in this world. My bf is 5 years older then me and I dont even really think about it. Age is just a number

When I was in high school, I went out with a freshman when I was a senior. Then we broke up after I graduated because not only her being a minor and me being over 18, but the fact that there were SOOO many other fishes when I got to my college campus.

He is in an older grade than you and if he was to date you even if he liked you the rest of the student body would poke fun at him...so basically it will never happen...sorry to deliver the bad news.

That's no big deal, even though it may seem like it when you are your age. The hard part will be to feel comfortable around each other's friends if things do work out. I doubt he would feel comfortable hanging out with 9th graders, so you would have to make the effort to fit in with his friends.
