I don't think youre a bad person for lying. But it is horrible how you judged her completely on looks. Every night, she probably lays in bed, thinking about you. And you wouldn't even give her a chance? I say give her a try and say that you broke up with your girlfriend. And how do you know shes 500 pounds? Did she tell you herself?

No I think you were just trying to spare her feelings. Honesty is USUALLY the best policy but not always if it means hurting someone. If your intentions were to let her down easily, then I think you are ok and a nice guy. If you were doing something to be mean or embarass her, that would be different.

No but you should have told her that you were not interested, It isn't your fault you were not attracted to her and if she finds out you lied she will be hurt worse than if you told her the truth up front.

Some day you will like someone who doesn't like you back. You will wish that they treat your tender little feelings with some compassion. So apply that to the situation with this girl--did you treat her with some degree of respect and kindness? She can't help it if she is attracted to you--no one can control who they are attracted to.

if your reason for not wanting to be with her is her weight (and since you mentioned that and nothing else one would have to suppose such was the case), then you were kind not to say so..but i'd bet ten bucks she knows you're bulls*it anyway!

What's the fact that she weighs 500 lbs. have to do with it? If you don't want to go out with somebody, you don't have to make up excuses, just don't go.
